It's strange how some things never change, even after a decade. My trip back home last weekend felt like a time warp of sorts. Apart from running into an old Engineering classmate at Bangalore International Airport, I also found my brother playing FreeSpace when I reached home.

I was back in Bombay for Niki's birthday. Incidentally FreeSpace launched exactly 12 years back - to the day. I couldn't help but wonder at the coincidence, and seeing the game again brought back old memories... which prompted me to write the latest article up on the site. You can find it here.

Speaking of articles, the site had a flawed way of addressing them till today. Yes, even the incredible Roach makes some booboos now and then.

Till yesterday, the urls to each article addressed them in the order in which they appear here. So this story would have been ArticleNumber=1 till yesterday. Today it is ArticleNumber=7, but is still the first one to display.

Why the change? Well the problem with the old system was that when I post the next bit of my ramblings here, what was earlier referenced as ArticleNumber=1 got rudely shifted to being ArticleNumber=2. So if you were one of those enthusiastic fans (hahah, how I love to kid myself) who had been sharing the link all around and then getting informed that they were idiots - this would explain why your friends don't talk to you anymore. The link you sent to them would point to some other content (though still here on TiR) every time I posted any new updates.

Now that has been fixed. So you can share links from now on with friends without fear for your reputation - the urls have been sorted out. They are now what a lot of sites call Permalinks. So even if I post another update tomorrow, you can still reach this newsfeed update directly from the url http://www.theincredibleroach.com/Content/newsfeed/Stories.php?ArticleNumber=7

Great games never change... so why should links from great sites? Eh? *winks*
